Antelope Canyon, near Page, AZ, is one of the most spectacular landscapes in the world. Water and wind, over millions of years, has eroded the fragile sandstone rocks to form what is one of the most beautiful slot canyons.
Light enters the canyon through small openings at the top and reflects off the sandstone walls to create a wide array of colors. Upper Antelope Canyon, where the images in this gallery were shot, is probably one of the most photographed slot canyons. As a photographer, I was drawn towards the almost psychedelic patterns of rocks accentuated by narrow beams of light and a wide array of colors. These present numerous opportunities to create abstract patterns with a focus on light and colors.
